Children's Dentistry

Happy visits build healthy habits for life. We make dental care fun, gentle and positive so your child grows up confident in the dental chair.

About Children's Dentistry

Early, positive dental experiences set children up for a lifetime of good oral health. Our team takes the time to make every visit relaxed and friendly — explaining things in kid-friendly language, going at your child's pace and celebrating their bravery. We recommend a child's first visit by their first birthday or when their first tooth appears.

Beyond gentle check-ups and cleans, we focus on prevention: fluoride applications to strengthen developing enamel, fissure sealants to protect the grooves of back teeth, and friendly coaching on brushing and diet for both kids and parents.

Is it right for you?

Children's dentistry is for every child, from toddlers to teens. If your child feels anxious, let us know in advance — we have plenty of gentle techniques to help, and sedation options are available for more involved treatment.

Recovery & aftercare

Help your child brush twice a day with a smear or pea-sized amount of fluoride toothpaste, limit sugary snacks and drinks, and keep up regular six-monthly visits.

Frequently asked questions

When should my child first see a dentist?expand_more

By their first birthday or when their first tooth appears. Early visits are short and fun, and help spot any concerns while building positive associations.

What is the CDBS and is my child eligible?expand_more

The Child Dental Benefits Schedule provides eligible children aged 2–17 with up to a capped amount of dental care over two years. We can check eligibility and bulk-bill where applicable.

Are baby teeth really that important?expand_more

Yes — they hold space for adult teeth, help with speech and eating, and decay in baby teeth can cause pain and affect the adult teeth developing beneath them.

What are fissure sealants?expand_more

A thin protective coating painted onto the grooves of back teeth to seal out food and bacteria. They're quick, painless and very effective at preventing cavities.
